Blastoise Feraligatr Deck Workshop

by Omar ~ February 12th, 2010.

So, This is the other side of the spectrum, AKA donphan’s greatest weakness. Water. The point in this deck is to abuse feraligatr and use blastoise and smash people with aqua press, or hit 2 bench for 60, whichever gets the prize card. Nothice the last few words in the last sentance, prize card. Yeah, its a prize race type of deck. Get 6 first and win. People might say stuff like, well all decks are prize card races. My response to you is, no. There are decks built for prize cards, like gyrados, kindra,SP etc. and decks built to manuever and win usind strageties like flychamp, GG etc. This is one of those where you need to get 6 prizes as fast yet correct as possible. Im not sure how to speed it up. I have some ideas, but lets see what people have to say. Criticism please.

First off, there are way too many supporters. I didn’t even count them, but I know. HeHe

They say that to understand the future, you must study the past. I recommend some historical literature. Try this.

I played that deck back in the day, and it was quite fun. Perhaps this will give you some perspective on why I supporters give me nightmares, and draw engines excite me like no other.

Now that you’ve studied the past to understand my future, maybe we can concentrate on yours. How many energy do you expect to want in play? If it’s less than 13, then I’d run Energy Search. It’s odd to me that I’ve said it twice in one day, but ESearch will get cards out of your deck while giving you something you can drop now. If I’m about to Uxie or Claydol, I’d rather have a search than an energy. The search will give you the energy while increasing the probability of getting non-energy draws.

Another thing that I think you should test is Unown (GS 54/123). With this deck, it could be like a massive Bronzong G. For that matter, I think SSU might be attractive. All that energy can just be replayed. If you’re considering that, then maybe Uxie is the draw choice.

I feel like this deck should set up on the first trainer turn. My take on the Feraligatr would be a fair bit different. It would be all about cycling draw then hand dump. The beauty is that you can dump energy with this deck. With Poke Communication, you can dump Pokemon, too.

    Anyway, I gotta run again.

  • Michael(you know, the short on

Ooo…your gonna need Azelf if your running Floatzel, and since you are, whats the real need for 2 fishermen? I mean really, come on people. Lol.

    -1 Fishermen
    -3 collector(it isn’t better than roseannes right now…)
    -1 communication
    -3 elms
-2 BTS(3? Really? Flygon will EAT YOU ALIVE)

    +1 Azelf
+2 Roseannes(you want as much energy search power as possible…)
    +3 bebes
    +1 candy
+1 premier ball(ALWAYS WHEN AN X is used lol)
    +1 NM
    +1 dawn stadium(it could be mean…)

Now, you don’t have to do any of these changes, but your list was AWFULLY supporter cramped…

I hope feraligatr will get people to play blastcatty more. Its a great deck but no one wants to play it.

I dont really see how feraligatr can help blastoise, but if i helps I guess.

  • Edwin/Edgar

it helps cause feraligatr can put as many water energys from your hand onto your water pokemon, and Blastiose's attack returns 2 water energys back to your hand so have them work together You can do 100 damage every turn

  • Harrisonjrx8

why would you play blast from PL use the UL one it does 100 snipes

  • Ed

The article was written in Feb. UL was released in May. The deck could be rebuilt, but now you may as well build for the upcoming post-rotation format.

  • Daneilrials

i like blastoise as my favorite pokemon.

  • Ed

    I hear that.
