PokemanDan’s PokeClass Episode 8 – Donphan and Its Many Decks

by PokemanDan ~ October 25th, 2010.

This week I am analysing Donphan Prime from HeartGold & SoulSilver.
This card pairs well with an array of different Pokemon and I’m going to be showing you a few today. Maybe you’ll decide to run it in your next tournament?

My daughter, Ava, has been running straight Donphan in juniors BRs. It’s worked well for her, but I wouldn’t build it like that for masters.

      Cool :)
Yeah, Masters would probably need to tech in a few more Pokes to account for other decks that threaten it. Such as Kingdra and Gyarados.

Yeah, and worry about silly little things like trainer lock or Power Spray. I’m not saying that those aren’t in juniors, but they’re less prevalent.

I like straight donkphan. It has the ability to beat everydeck. The downside is that if you don’t get the donk, you might as well scoop.

While the donphan/erl deck has a chance lategame, it just can’t beat everydeck. Its not good enough to beat an SP deck that has dialga g in it.

Good video but you forgot to mention donphan/machamp prime. That could be a great deck coming up for cities. Donphan can donk, but if not just lay down machamp and you get like 150 damage for a DCE and the fighitng energies you had previously attached to donphan.

I’m also wondering if Donphan/Mesprit can make a showing with Seeker.
