Battle Roads Preview

Introduction

It’s me, coolestman22, with an article about the Top 4 decks for Battle Roads. In this article are 4 lists of the decks I believe will have the biggest impact on Battle Roads, one of which emerges from our newest set, Dark EXplorers (I wish they would stop the EX puns already). Most of these I have at one point played so they are somewhat tested, but remember that each player has personal preferences so not every list will seem 100% perfect to you. It’s not the exact list that you have to use, so feel free to edit the lists to your personal preference.

First off, we’ll take a look at what did well at Regionals, even though there might be a few differences in the lists now that Dark EXplorers is out.

According to thetopcut.net, here are the Top 4 decks in all of the U.S. Regionals:

Zekrom/Eels – 5 Zekrom/Eels – 4 Celebi/Mewtwo/Virizion – 2
Durant – 1 Celebi/Mewtwo/Tornadus – 2 Zekrom/Eelektrik – 4

    KyuremEX/Mewtwo/Terrakion – 1
    Liligant/Vileplume/Victini – 1
    Celebi-Mewtwo-Tornadus – 4

This looks pretty much metagame-oriented, with the only exceptions being the Liligant deck and the Kyurem-EX/Terrakion/Mewtwo …

Pikkdogs guide for a successful tournament.

A big hello to all members of Omar-Nation.  This is Pikkdogs here.  Since its tournament season, I think we should have some tournament related advice for our younger players.

When people see me they always say, “Pikkdogs, what are you doing in my closet?”, then after that they say, “how can I become a better tournament player?”While I haven’t had the best success in tournaments, I have learned a couple lessons that I can share.                                                                                                                                                           

1.  Prepare Your Way

Every article that gives you tournament advise always starts  by telling you to get a good nights sleep and get a good breakfast.  While I agree that this is good and will improve concentration, it is impractical for most people.  Most tournament goers are college age and just never get a good sleep or a good breakfast.  So lets not change the routine, just do whatever it takes to make you normal.  Eating a big breakfast when you normally don’t, can get you a big stomach ache, so just do whats normal.  This step isn’t as important as people think it is.

2.  Don’t change your shuffling routine.
